BOJ recently raised the interest rate for the first time in 17 years.
The last time it raised the interest rate was in 2007, just before the US recession 😐
Why is this bearish?
Due to the zero interest rate, Japanese investors were borrowing yen to invest in other markets like US equities, crypto, etc.
Now with the interest rate hike, the borrowed money is no longer free.
This is causing the investors to dump their assets and move them back to yen.
What will happen next?
Either the BOJ or the FED needs to do the rate cut sooner; otherwise, the market bloodbath will continue.
